What is special about kitchen mats? To succeed in a comercial kitchen environment and not break down quickly, mats require a high percentage of Nitrile rubber. Natural rubber has poor resistance to oils, fats and greases. At least 40% Nitrile content added to natural or syntheticrubber ensures far superior grease resistance. In addition, mats should drain well, as there is a prevalence of liquid spillage in kitchens. And, from a safety perspective, good ramping, with a gentle slope along all edges where traffic may walk on and off the mat is essential to prevent trips.
